Two vacant lots in Brentwood are awaiting plans.

Mayor of Brentwood Chris Thornton owns the vacant lot at S. Brentwood Boulevard and White Avenue (2301 S. Brentwood Boulevard). An office building for his wife’s insurance business was previously planned there. In September 2017 Thornton submitted a request to planning and zoning for a 909 square-foot custard shop called Three Monkeys.

According to the city’s building department, Thornton hasn’t yet submitted plans and asked for a 90-day extension, which runs out in October.

Brentwood Bible Church at 8820 Lawn Avenue has been demolished. According to St. Louis County records the property is owned by SGE Properties LLC, bought in March 2016. SGE Properties also owns the Milton Building next to it on the corner of Lawn and Brentwood.

An official in the Brentwood building department said no requests have been made for a use for the empty lot. He also said the demolition isn’t final and that it will be leveled and seeded for grass if it isn’t used.

The property is zoned single-family residential.
