Alice Hezel, the woman on Cambridge Avenue with multiple citations from the city of Maplewood for the upkeep of her yard, was scheduled to appear in county court yesterday (Oct. 13) for a hearing. She said Friday that what she wants is a jury trial.

Her hearing was rescheduled to Nov. 11 because her attorney wasn’t able to appear at the docket on account of orthopedic surgery.

Hezel said DJM Ecological Services is going to help her maintain her native plants in the spring.

Hezel said Friday she had considered running for mayor of Maplewood in April 2017 but didn’t have the time lately. She said among her qualifications, she was on staff with the city of Creve Coeur for six years and was the first female graduate of the Missouri Highway Patrol Academy.
