Rob Birenbaum, the owner of the location where Asador Del Sur plans to open soon in Maplewood, says the restaurant owners had planned to open in the Spring.
Birenbaum said on Facebook that the restaurant plans to open Wednesday.

My newest tenants, wife and husband team, Maria Giamportone and Daniel Gonzalez, made the decision in late 2019 to move from Miami to St. Louis to start their dream restaurant and signed a lease in December, with the hope of opening Asador Del Sur (Southern Grill) in late spring at 7322 Manchester in downtown Maplewood. You know what they say about the best-laid plans!Maria & Daniel’s never-give-up spirit will be rewarded when they open this Wednesday, August 19. Look for dishes from Maria’s home country of Ecuador and Daniel’s native Uruguay, along with offerings from Central and South America.
Dine-in is available (following St. Louis County guidelines), as well as pick-up.
