There will be some shuffling of tenants in the 7400 block of Manchester Road, as two backed out and one closed.

Kim Cheese, an Asian-fusion restaurant approved for 7405 Manchester Road that My Happy Place recently moved out of, decided not to move in, according to building owner Dan Slavin. He said the numbers it didn’t work; a kitchen needed to be built.

At 7415 Manchester Road, on the corner, where Craft Beer Cellar was approved but then backed out, architectural firm RDG Planning and Design is moving in. Slavin said it’s a national firm. RDG will occupy the former My Happy Place during the build-out of their space.

As of a few days ago, Craft Beer Cellar hasn’t said where they might open a second location in addition to the one in Clayton.

David Schlafly is looking for tenants for the building he is rehabbing on the corner of Manchester and Sutton.

  1. Doug, any idea on how many kitchens remain in David Schlafly’s rehab? I believe Monarch previously had two kitchens. Blue Duck took one I assume. But if there is a second one still available and it has a much smaller space, this might be attractive to a restaurant that had no interest in the previously large size of the space.

Im still not totally convinced Craft Beer won’t find its way into the My Happy Place space once RDG moves out. Then again, it is likely just naive optimism.
