Bakery is on the market

Maplewood’s Great Harvest Bakery is on the market, according to its owner, Steve Jawor.

Jawor has owned the Great Harvest for more than a dozen years. It was in Olivette before moving to Maplewood, at 7360 Manchester Road. Jawor said he’s taking offers.

The Kirkwood Great Harvest as been on the market for several months. The owners there are asking $487,000, according to Great Harvest.

A former Great Harvest in St. Charles didn’t sell, asking $125,000.

  1. Was it mentioned why he wanted to sell? Changing professional interests? Retire?
    Selling the business as opposed to just closing the doors would seem to imply it is or at least can be financially sucessful.

    • Joe S – Bakery owner said he’s not retiring. I guess changing professional interest would be accurate.

  2. First Lubley’s now Great Harvest. Running a bakery must not be as profitable as it once was. Panera also impacts them all.
