Candidate for Maplewood Richmond Heights Board of Education, Brandi Herndon-Miller, submitted a statement for publication on 40 South News. The election will be held April 2.

Herndon-Miller’s statement:

Hello my Maplewood and Richmond Heights Neighbors. My name is Brandi Herndon-Miller, and I am an incumbent running for the position of Director on the Maplewood Richmond Heights School Board on April 2.

As a lifelong resident of Richmond Heights, with a family rooted in the MRH School District, I have seen the transition of our district first-hand into the exceptional district it is today. It is my desire to see our district continue its journey of setting the new standard for academic excellence, leadership, stewardship, scholarship, citizenship, community engagement, and student achievement.

In addition to my service on the board for approximately 15 months, I am a practicing family and criminal law attorney, Municipal Court Provisional Judge, City Attorney and Prosecuting Attorney for the Village of Uplands park, District One Director of the Missouri Municipal And Associate Circuit Judge Association, Volunteer Attorney and Board Member of New Covenant Legal Services and Board Member of the Korey Johnson Foundation, but my most important job is mother to my 12-year-old twins Sam and Tina, 6th graders at MRH Elementary.

It is my love for the district and my dedication to serving my community that led me to begin volunteering for the district, and which ultimately led me to serve on the school board. If re-elected, I will continue to serve the MRH Community by keeping myself educated and informed on the needs of the district, community, teachers and most importantly students I serve. I will focus on where we are headed without losing sight of where we’ve been. I am nothing without the community behind me, challenging me, holding me accountable, supporting me, and meeting me at the table in an effort to find common ground. There is no issue I will not discuss or consider.

I am looking forward to continuing to grow in my relationships with the community, parents, teachers and administration, businesses, and especially students of MRH. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with your questions, comments, concerns, or even to offer some much needed support on my Facebook Page Brandi Herndon-Miller or via email at [email protected].
