Crews can’t resurface a road through the winter, so St. Louis County’s Brentwood Boulevard project won’t be complete until spring 2016, David Wrone, public information manager for St. Louis County’s Department of Transportation said Monday.

“Due to the fact that you can’t resurface in the dead of winter, so we’re almost to November, and as we had anticipated, there was a potential of the resurfacing not being done until next spring — that has proven to be the case,” he said.

Wrong said the preliminary work — sidewalk replacement, curb and ramp construction — is proceeding and is “looking good.”

He said the contractor is currently on Eager Road. Monday afternoon the crew was at the entrance to Dierbergs, with eastbound traffic down to a lane.

“They’re hard at it, it’s just a significant project — just north of Marshall all the way to Eager, and then we’ve got two stretches of Eager Road — it’s a major job,” Wrone said.
