The fourth-seeded Blue Devils fought Trinity Catholic to a 0-0 tie in Maplewood, until the Titans finally scored with 3:09 remaining; MRH couldn’t answer.

Coach J.C. Kime said his kids fought hard. He took responsibility for some of the mistakes made Friday.

“The way they battled – we were basically playing iron man football,” Kime said. “They came together as a family the entire year. Never once got down on each other, and the kids that stuck it out — that’s true character right there.”

Kime comforted senior, Zach Siebert after the game, and 40 South asked what he said.

“I told senior Zach Siebert that I was so proud of him,” Kime said. “Every time that I’ve doubted him in the past two years he made me eat every word that I said. He was a true leader on the field, and did above and beyond what anybody would have expected from him, and he left it all out here on the field.”
