Our cities will pool their resources for two upcoming events—electronics recycling and a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) class.

Electronics recycling

Brentwood, Maplewood, and Richmond Heights will host an electronics recycling drive at The Heights parking lot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 26. Many items that can be plugged in are accepted at no charge, but larger items might have a small fee. To view a list of accepted electronics click here or call Mary Binns at 314-645-0404.

Community Emergency Response Team Class

Brentwood, Glendale, Maplewood, and Rock Hill fire and police departments will host the second joint Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training session beginning on August 26, from 6 to 10 p.m. The first class will be at the Glendale city hall auditorium, at 424 N. Sappington Road.

In CERT, teams of citizens are trained to take care of themselves and then help others in their communities for the first three days following a disaster.

The Community Emergency Response Team course consists of 21 hours of training, two nights per week for two weeks, plus one Saturday morning practical exercise. Classes are taught by fire and police personnel from all four cities.
