The St. Louis Post-Dispatch talked with Eagles outfielder/pitcher Bradley Jones recently, and he’s optimistic.  “We’ve got the bats rolling and we’re getting some runs,” Jones said. “We’re giving some good support (to) our pitchers. I’m certainly happy with where we are.”

Brentwood coach Mike Imergoot told the Post-Dispatch their goal is to get past the second round in the post season.

The Eagles and Blue Devils district play begins on Monday, May 18, at Hancock.

The winners of those games play the next day for the district championship, also at Hancock. Brentwood (13-4) is the top seed, MRH (11-9) is the number two seed.
It will be the first time all season that Brentwood plays MRH if they meet in the championship game.

Maplewood Richmond Heights beat the Eagles 5-3 in last year’s Class 3 District 4 Tournament—it was the Blue Devils’ first district championship since 1963, according to coach Jonathan Webb.

Jones told the Post-Dispatch it’s been the team’s goal to win sectionals for a couple of years.  “We’ve all put in a lot of hard work to get ready for this. We’re going to give it our best shot,” Jones said.
