Brentwood, MRH runners win at Sectionals; going to State

Brentwood and Maplewood Richmond Heights track teams each had runners win events at the sectional meet in Troy on Saturday. Both teams will send runners to the state meet in Jefferson City this coming weekend.

At the sectional meet MRH had nine runners in five events qualify for the state meet. Brentwood advanced runners in four events, including two relays.

MRH athletes who qualified for the state track meet:

Boys
4×400 relay (Tyree King, Chyle Kluttz, Isaac Pearson, Kalab Butler) – 4th
4×800 relay  (Malik Stewart, Logan MacDonald, Joseph Tronicek, Kar’Mel Brewer) – 3rd
Zach Barton (11) – 100m – 1st Place

Girls
Jayda Buchannan (11) – 400m – 1st
Jayda Buchannan – 800m – 1st

Brentwood athletes who qualified for the state track meet:

Boys
Kaylon Jenkins (12) – 200m – 1st
Kaylon Jenkins – 400m – 1st
4×100 relay – 1st
4×200 relay – 3rd
