The former Colt Safety Products building, at 8300 Manchester Road, is being demolished, beginning with the roof.
The contractor said the lumber from the roof is for sale, though the bricks will not be worth selling.
The building is was bought by Surco Properties LLC in February for $390,000. Colt went out of business there in 2012.

Oh no! I’m so bummed. I’ve loved that building a long time, always hoping someone would buy it and make it into something cool.
