Dottie Higginbotham

Dorothy “Dottie” Higginbotham, a long time Brentwood resident and city employee died last Friday, the Brentwood Historical Society reports.

From the Brentwood Historical Society:

“…She was 98 years young. She was a gem. Always a smile, a laugh and a good story. She worked in many capacities for the City of Brentwood over the years. Dottie enjoyed being with other people.  That is why we all enjoyed being with Dottie. She was loved by many, and will be missed.

“The picture (below) was taken at the Rec Center sometime in the late 1970s. There are several people in this photo that played key roles in the success of Brentwood. Three Brentwood Mayor’s in this photo. Dottie is in the front row, second from the left, in the stylin’ plaid pants. Dottie belongs in a picture like this, with many important Brentwood people. She would tell you she doesn’t. In many ways Dottie was one of those people that makes Brentwood what it is. Good people who care about their community.”

A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. See her obituary in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
