The block in Brentwood that includes Drury Inn and Bonefish Grill lost power Saturday from around 4 to 9:30 p.m. according to a Bonefish Grill employee. He said he was told that an electric transformer had gone out.

The restaurant stayed closed for the night after the power came back on. The employee said the same thing happened Thursday and it wasn’t able to open for dinner at all.

Soon after the power returned, a manager at the Drury Inn said it was “pretty dark” in the hotel when the lights went out. Evelyn Zummwalt, from Seneca, MO, said it was “black as pitch” in the halls.

Zummwalt said families were staying there from around the state for a USA Wrestling youth tournament at Cheifetz Arena. She said the boys were running through the halls scaring each other, “screaming like girls,” using just their phones for lights.

On Sunday, on the phone a manager said emergency lights were on in the halls for a time then went off. She said flashlights were distributed in areas and people were encouraged to stay in the lobby. General manager, Nelson Bay was contacted but didn’t immediately return a call.
