The German influence in St. Louis has long been recognized and celebrated. Dorris Keeven-Franke began researching her own German ancestors with her grandfather at the age of 12, spurring a lifelong career of writing about German emigrants to Missouri. Currently she works closely with the German Traveling Summer Republic. She is executive director of the Missouri Germans Consortium, lectures on German emigration, & is author of several books & articles on German emigrants & emigration societies.
