Sit back for a hiker’s tour of the High Sierra, the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California. The mountains extend 400 miles north to south, with the highest point in the lower 48 states, Mt.Whitney, 14,505 feet. Snow is present year round on the granite peaks. Variations in altitude, rainfall and topography support a wide diversity of mountain wildflowers in summer months.
This program is a collection of photos taken over many years of exploring the spectacular trails of the High Sierra. Carol Gravens is both a Master Gardener and a Master Naturalist. She has multiple programs with the Master Gardeners Speakers Bureau and is a well known speaker for her area of expertise with orchids and photography.
