The house opened in Maplewood in 2011. It supports four residents, and staff members, and they’d like to expand.

“We love Maplewood,” community leader/executive director, Paula Kilcoyne said Saturday. She said their current residents are known in the area as they participate in the community. L’Arche needs city approval to buy a house for its use, and have contacted the city, but the matter hasn’t reached the council level yet.

About a hundred came to the L'Arche ice cream social on Saturday.

  1. L’arche is a great organization and asset to the community! The house members frequent our business and always bring a smile. We support them and hope they can expand into their second home. There is tremendous need in Missouri for more homes like L’arche!
