St. Louis station, KMOV, on Thursday reported on the Maplewood family — the Pinnells — who were given an eviction notice days after the father,  James “Pat” Pinnell, died of a heart attack. The family was given less than 24 hours to remove their belongings before the door would be locked.

A KMOV reporter knocked on the leasing office door and tried talk to the leasing manger, Tammy Brown. Brown said, “No,” and ran away into the office.

The Pinnells weren’t given an option to stay and now the apartment is locked. Piper Pinnell (the mother) told KMOV, “There were some speakers and home entertainment center we couldn’t get out in that quick of a time. There were some precious items left, some pictures we would have liked to have had for the funeral service.” See the KMOV report here.

The Pinnells have started a Go Fund Me campaign, as they plan their next move.

    • Come to think of it, is this woman thinking she can steal what the family couldn’t get in such short notice for her own financial gain?

  1. I know those apartments they are extremely small, have only one bedroom, why was four people living in one unit. Where did they all sleep on the floor.

  2. Note to family: If any of your group has a driver’s licenses showing the address of the apartment on it you should go to the location and dial up the police departments non emergency number and have an officer come out to make a report that your keys do not work and you can’t get into your dwelling. that you have property inside and you’ve been locked out by management. This will be helpful down the road when you end up in court on this matter.
