What to look for at Let Them Eat Art 2014

Maplewood’s ninth annual Let Them Eat Art, a “whimsical tribute to Bastille Day” is Friday from 6 to 11 p.m.

The self-guided tour through historic downtown Maplewood offers something for everyone, according the city’s website. It’s “somewhere between Mardi Gras and the Christmas Tree Walk.”

Sutton Boulevard will be closed from Manchester Road to Hazel Avenue.

  • Live demonstrations by more than 35 regional artists and artisans
  • Live music at the Sutton Main Stage
  • Great food and drink specials by Maplewood’s award-winning restaurants
  • Dream interpretations by the Dream Seekers
  • Hoop Dance permances by the St. Louis Hoop Club
  • Tarot card reading and psychic readings at Mystic Valley
  • Kids’ activities in the newly renovated Sutton Loop Park
  • Busker Jason Stack
  • Late night show by Show Me Burlesque with Lola Van Ella at The Focal Point (for grown-ups)

Acero: St. Louis artist, Jennifer Hayes Art Stl will be painting live

A Pizza Story: in addition to the regular menu: pasta salad with smoked salmon, capers and olives; Bomboloni; Biscotti; and gelato. For drinks: Sangria, Italian Margarita, Schlafly Summer Lager, Stiegl Radler.

EFS Energy: Be sure to swing by EFS Energy tomorrow during Let Them Eat Art to see Artistic Mission – Dan Jaboor, artist. We’ll have Sun Tea and Ice Pops for the kids to enjoy.

Blind Tiger: our own live music from DJ Toddy Holiday until midnight

Flying Tiger Motorcycles: Tiger’s Blood adult beverages, artist Kyle Heikkila, and a Photo Booth ~ you and your bike, or take a pic with one of ours. We will have bike parking as well, first come, first serve.

Kakao Chocolate: The French Tricolour as a marshmallow! Made with our new vibrant and all-natural food colorants. Get them tonight at Let Them Eat Art!

Roots Antiques: several mixed media drawings by local artist, Doug Kassabaum. We will be open late (until at least 10 p.m.)

Stone Spiral Coffee: Excited for Let Them Eat Art tonight! Grace will be hosting a French wine tasting!

Strange Donuts: Donut shop rap shows are the future. Zado kicks off the Strange Summer Concert Series tomorrow night in the ‪#‎donezone‬, 9-11

Tiny Little Monster: It’s happening tonight and we’ll be there printing koozies and selling our tiny oringinals – plus $7 Monster head tees!

Vom Fass: gives props to two other Maplewood businesses: The Bacon Balsamic Caramel Corn at Home Wine Kitchen and the galettes and goodies at Pie Oh My

The Wood: We will be featuring Nelson Perez with Vodka Bacon Studios in the restaurant and it is going to be an awesome good time!
