Brentwood and Richmond Heights police made arrests in January and February. The suspects were charged recently.

Avery Jophine Harris, 37, of St. Louis, has been charged with stealing liquor on three different occasions from the Brentwood Target store in February, according to court and Brentwood police records.

At the Target store on Feb. 26 Harris hid six bottles of vodka in a backpack. He made a small purchase at the register but did not pay for the vodka hidden in his backpack. Target employees recognized Harris from three other thefts captured on security video. He was caught outside the store and the stolen vodka was recovered. Harris confessed to the thefts. The total value of liquor stolen between Feb. 6 and Feb. 26 was $1,265. Harris was charged with stealing over $500 and held on a $10,000 bond.

Jerry Chatman Savage, 19, of St. Louis, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon when stopped on Jan. 16, according to court and Richmond Heights police records.

Richmond Heights officers responded to a report of a fight at the Galleria Cinema. While there they were told that some participants in the fight just left in a car after flourishing what appeared to be handguns. Officers got a description of the car and occupants. The car was stopped near Brentwood Boulevard and Clayton Road. Officers smelled marijuana in the car. A search revealed a black semi automatic pistol in the glove compartment. It appeared to be in working order and loaded. Savage was held on a $10,000 bond.
