‘A loud bang and a flash’ was reported on Wednesday at around 5 a.m. in the area of Greenwood Boulevard. The Maplewood Police night shift supervisor said the cause was a blown transformer.
At the same time, lights that were on in the area flickered momentarily, including at Great Harvest Bread Company (7360 Manchester Road), Forward Fitness (3111 Sutton Boulevard), and Shop ‘n Save. A strong wind was blowing at the time.
I saw the red lights on the tower at Hanley and Manchester flash about that same time. I have never seen that before, was this the cause ?
