Isaac Young, 86, was recognized with a proclamation at the Maplewood Council meeting, for practicing law from his office in Maplewood for more than 50 years, and for maintaining the landscaping at the corner of Zephyr Place and Big Bend Boulevard for many years.

More than 40,000 drivers a day enjoy Zephyr Park as they drive by on Big Bend, council member, Karen Wood read from the proclamation. Young has served on the Maplewood Special Business District Tax Advisory Commission since 1996. He is also a former mayor of Olivette.

Young took advantage of the spotlight to express his appreciation for Maplewood City Manager Marty Corcoran.

“I’ve been around a lot of city managers; some good, some bad,” he said. “We’ve had the benefit of an outstanding, strong city manager, and that’s been a big part of the Maplewood renaissance.”
