Mauhaus cat cafe is getting close to opening, it appears. 40 South was invited in for some photos of the construction so far.
Some of the structures for cats to climb on are still in pieces — some not installed — but enough has been built to imagine a dozen or so cats (up for adoption from Tenth Life Cat Rescue), sunning in the window, hiding and pacing the cat walk near the ceiling.
Mauhaus will be part coffee house with baked goods and part fun house for cats and anyone who wants to share the room with them. Patrons will be able to take their purchases from the cafe into room full of cats. No definite word when Mauhaus will open.
