The Maplewood Richmond Heights High School Class of 1965 Tuesday afternoon cleaned out their class bank account and donated $1183.54 to Joe’s Place, the MRH facility that supports homeless boys during the school year.

Joe’s Place house parents Jeremy and Rachel Mapp accepted the check at a meeting of the group at Stone Spiral Coffee.

Class member, Kay Conley Cammarata said the donation was the result of extra funds after all expenses were paid. She said it was unanimous to make the donation to Joe’s Place. The home has space for four boys. Three graduated last year.

“We started out with 10 and we grew to 14 people,” she said. “Everybody did such a major job (collecting the donations). I live in the New Orleans area, all these people are local. They’re the ones that did it. We communicated electronically.”

The class had their reunion June 11-14. They chose the dates because it’s right around their graduating date of June 10, 1965.

They had a meet and greet at The Wood, toured the school district, did a Maplewood crawl, bowled at Saratoga Lanes, and finished with a dinner dance with 110 attending, including some of their teachers.
