Maplewood Richmond Heights senior pitcher Zech Biship has been awarded an extra honor for his pitching performance in the district final against Brentwood on Saturday.
Biship threw a no-hitter to win the Class 3 District 4 championship over rival Brentwood 4-1, and has been named a St. Louis Post-Dispatch Athlete of the Week for the effort.
Biship struck out 10, walked three and threw only 64 pitches in the first six innings. He retired 16 Brentwood batters in a row between the first and sixth inning.
He is being recruited by Fontbonne, Harris-Stowe and Robert Morris, the Post-Dispatch reports.
