The new pastor at Concordia Lutheran Church in Maplewood sent in an introduction and photo. From Pastor Jaime Nava:

On the corner of Sarah and Marshall (behind Foundation Grounds coffee) Concordia Lutheran Church has received a new pastor to serve. Previously they had been served by Pastor Matthew Wood since 2012. In July of last year, Pastor Wood took a call to serve with his family in Indonesia.

Concordia Lutheran Church was established in 1892 and moved to its current location in 1954. They are part of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.

On Sunday, June 9, Pastor Jaime (Hispanic pronunciation) Nava was installed to serve. Pastor Nava grew up in Orange, California. His father is an immigrant from Mexico and his mother is a native Californian. He became a Christian in 2000 and found his way into the Lutheran Church. He went to Concordia Seminary (Lutherans love the word ‘Concordia’) here in St. Louis. When he graduated in 2011 he served a congregation in the Inland Empire of Southern California for five years. He came back to work in St. Louis and, after living for the past couple of years in the Show Me State, has accepted the call and is now officially serving as Shepherd for his flock in Maplewood.

Pastor Nava is married and has two children. His oldest attends public school here in Maplewood which does a phenomenal job taking care of her. His younger daughter is eager to join her. He enjoys eating all around the Maplewood food scene and is leaving the Ducks and Angels behind for the Cardinals and the Blues (Go Blues!). Lord, have mercy.
