Alice Harper, daughter of the late William and Gertrude Harper, owners of Harper’s Pharmacy in Maplewood, died on March 18 at age 94.

Alice Harper, daughter of the late William and Gertrude Harper, owners of Harper’s Pharmacy in Maplewood, died on March 18 at age 94, according to an obituary from Jay B. Smith Funeral Home.

Harper’s Pharmacy was at the corner of Sutton Boulevard and Maple Avenue, and is currently unoccupied.

Visitation is Thursday, March 20, at Jay B. Smith Funeral Home, 7456 Manchester Road, from 10 to 11 a.m. The funeral service is at 11 a.m.

Memorials are preferred to Maplewood Baptist Church.

  1. I was just getting ready to email you about it, Chuck. I remember the pharmacy, especially when we lived on Maple. I’m sorry to say I don’t remember the family, but found a picture of Bill Harper among dad’s papers.

  2. Thank you for that information. I do not remember Alice although I was also a member of Maplewood Baptist Church growing up, but I certainly remember her Dad, Bill Harper. I went with my Dad and Uncle many times to Harper’s Pharmacy.
