Police: tip jar stolen, littering

Sunday, Nov. 8

  • Police were dispatched to a Maplewood Commons business for a found property report. Through investigation, police learned that the property owner discarded the large item in the parking lot area instead of properly disposing of it. The owner of the discarded property is wanted for littering.

Monday, Nov. 9

  • Police began an investigation into a stealing that occurred at a Maplewood Commons business. Through investigation, police discovered that an ex-employee of the business had taken approximately $200 from the victim’s account. The suspect is wanted for the crime.

Tuesday, Nov. 10

  • Police conducted a pedestrian check on a suspicious subject walking in the 7700 block of Folk Avenue. While speaking with the individual, police smelled a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from his person. Upon providing full consent, a search of the individual’s person revealed him to be in possession of a multi colored smoking devised which contained burnt marijuana residue. The suspect was later arrested and booked for possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Police were dispatched to a business located in the 7300 block of Manchester rd for a larceny report. The victim told police that her “tip” jar, which contained approximately $20, had been stolen from her store. During the investigation, the victim later contacted police advising that she no longer wished to seek prosecution in this matter.
  • Police began an investigation into a leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident that occurred in the area of Big Bend Boulevard and Manchester Road. The suspect vehicle is described as a green Ford Explorer 4-door (no further info at this time). This investigation is ongoing.
