Monday, Sept. 8

  • In the early morning hours an officer on patrol saw two men peering into a window of a vehicle near Manhattan Avenue and Brompton Square. While making contact with the men, a resident in the 3500 block of Manhattan reported his vehicle had been broken into. Police charged one of the men with two counts of tampering with a vehicle. Police are investigating possibly related previous thefts from vehicles.
  • Police arrested three men for a drug violation in the 2600 block of Bellevue.

Wednesday, Sept. 9

  • Police arrested a 44-year-old man for trespassing at an apartment complex in the 2200 block of Yale.
  • Police arrested a 51-year-old woman for stealing merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • Police arrested a 68-year-old man for peace disturbance in the 3600 block of S. Big Bend.

Thursday, Sept. 11

  • Police responded to the 2000 block of Sutton for a reported disturbance. A 25-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man had been involved in a verbal argument over personal matters. No arrests were made or charges filed.

Friday, Sept. 12

  • Two vehicles were broken into in the 7400 block of Lohmeyer. Someone entered the unlocked vehicles and stole change and miscellaneous property.

Saturday, Sept. 13

  • Police arrested a 26-year-old man for shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • A residential burglary was reported in the 2100 block of Bellevue. Someone forced entry into the residence and stole electronics.
  • Police arrested a 17-year-old female for stealing approximately $120 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • Police arrested a 36-year-old woman for shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.

Sunday, Sept. 14

  • In the early morning hours police charged a 40-year-old man with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident. The driver struck a parked vehicle near the intersection of Bellevue and Lyndover and left the scene. Police later tracked the driver to the 2400 block of Florent and took him into custody. Police located the driver due to the fact his vehicle bumper with the license plate still attached was left behind at the scene of the accident. It was further discovered that he had no operator’s license.
