Voters will decide school propositions in St. Louis, Ladue and Fort Zumwalt school districts as well as Maplewood Richmond Heights on Tuesday, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

The MRH Prop Y isn’t the cheapest, but it’s hard to compare apples to apples. The various propositions are to secure schools, pay teachers more, renovate a high school, balance a budget, maintain buildings, and more.

The propositions:

St. LouisProposition 1 — A 75-cent increase to raise about $28 million annually to expand the district’s preschool options, make school buildings more secure and pay teachers and district staff more competitively. It’s the first school levy city voters have been asked to pass in 25 years.

Ladue —  Proposition R — A 39-cent property tax increase to finance an $85.1 million bond issue for renovations at the high school.

Fort Zumwalt —  Proposition K — A 48-cent tax increase to increase teacher salaries, pay for technology teachers at all 16 elementary schools, and help balance the budget.

Maplewood Richmond HeightsProposition Y — A 55-cent property tax increase that would generate about $1.1 million a year for school operations and $240,000 annually for maintenance.
