RadioShack to shutter 500 nationally; how about Brentwood’s?

The Brentwood RadioShack will remain open, according to two employees.

RadioShack announced Wednesday that 500 stores will be shuttered nationally, as reported by the St. Louis Business Journal via RealTime STL.

St. Louis has more than 40 of the stores. There are about 4,300 nationally.

The stores to be closed haven’t been announced, but two employees at the Brentwood RadioShack on Wednesday were confident they would remain open.

One said the store has a history and a great customer base. The other said the Brentwood Radio Shack has been in business 39 years this month.

Only stores not doing well would be cut, which doesn’t include the Brentwood store, they said.

The Brentwood RadioShack is at 2518 S Brentwood Boulevard.

  1. I hope they stay open. I just bought two things there that you can’t buy in other bricks-and-mortar stores anymore. The sales rep was very knowledgeable.
