Maplewood resident Stephanie Ojeda and her husband have launched a raw pet food business — Raw Paw Feast, according to a press release.

Raw Paw Feast, a premium raw pet food company, underwent its official launch in September after a successful soft rollout in late August. Founded by husband and wife team Danilo and Stephanie Ojeda, this Hispanic and Black-owned business aims to change not just how, but what dog and cat owners feed their pets.

“The majority of pet owners feed either dry kibble or canned wet food,” Stephanie said. “Most pet owners don’t even realize that raw pet food is an option – and even fewer understand the true benefits of a raw diet.”

While their company may be new, their experience with raw feeding is not. Their 11-year-old calico cat, which they adopted in 2011, has been on a homemade raw diet for the past 9 years. After seeing firsthand the benefits of the diet – softer, shiner fur, increased energy, improved digestion – they continued their research into the topic, and soon discovered they were not the only fans of raw feeding.

“There’s an entire raw feeding community out there,” Danilo said. “Millions of people are feeding raw food to their pets with great results.”

So together – with Stephanie’s background in chemistry and food safety, and Danilo’s background in operations and process control – they founded Raw Paw Feast. Their offerings include both a cat and dog formula in 16 and 32 oz. sizes, using real chicken as their main ingredient. Beef and turkey formulas are in the works for the near future.
