Maplewood Richmond Heights graduate (2015) Presten Pinnell died over the weekend, according to many Facebook posts.

His father, James “Pat” Pinnell, died just last month. Immediately following that, the family received an eviction notice.

Pinnell (known as PP) was known for his big smile. A Facebook friend called him a “free spirit and amazing soul.”

A family member, a cousin, has set up a Go Fund Me site to pay for funeral and medical costs. She said Pinnell fell from a balcony while on a trip with friends.

From the Go Fund Me post: “He was a college student at the University of Central Missouri studying Occupational Health and Safety and an accomplished scholar. At MRH high school, Presten was extremely active in choir, played trumpet in the school band, was a varsity starter in football and baseball, recipient of several awards, an active volunteer with the College Bound program as well as the APA (Animal Protection Association) in St. Louis, and was a lifeguard/swim instructor at the community pool.”

In Pinnell’s  honor, one of his friends arranged for t-shirts to be printed with his smiling face, with a quote attributed to him: “You can’t spell happy without P.P.”

Proceeds from the sales will go to the Pinnell family. A minimum of 20 needs to be purchased.
