Scheidt True Value Hardware lost the smiley, helpful Eileen Lencz to retirement on Wednesday.
Lencz has been at Scheidt for seven and a half years. Her friends who came to wish her well were treated to lunch from Tim Hortons and The Piccadilly, offered at the back of the store. Lencz brought in homemade brownies too.
Lencz said she and her husband, Steven, plan to travel to visit their sons in Korea, Virginia and North Carolina. Another son lives in Valley Park, MO. She always walked up Sutton Boulevard to work, no matter the weather, and said she’ll continue to walk every day.
