The life-size, bronze likeness of Maplewood firefighter Ryan Hummert was installed on the monument in Ryan Hummert Memorial Park on Wednesday.

The memorial’s dedication is set for July 21 at 6:30 p.m. The date is the eighth anniversary of Hummert’s death, when he was killed by a sniper as he responded to a call.
The sculpture will be covered until the dedication.

My family will be there. Ryan’s death, the signed quilt, and his funeral… Were all a large part of our two daughters’ teen years.,.and made them VERY afraid for their dad’s safety. Every time we go visit Greg at RHFD, and drive by “that house,” we look to the right, and we say a prayer for Ryan. EVERY TIME! God bless! My oldest is coming home from Mizzou for this, and we will all be there.
