Shoplifting arrests at Maplewood Commons: police

The following information was supplied by the Maplewood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, March 16 

  • A 31-year-old man was arrested relating to the vehicle that was set on fire in the 2200 block of Yale on February 21. Charges are pending through the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
  • Police arrested a 26-year-old man and a a 26-year-old woman for stealing approximately $110 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.

Tuesday, March 17

  • Police arrested a 27-year-old man for shoplifting approximately $170 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.  Police will be seeking felony charges due to the suspect’s prior theft history.

Thursday, March 19

  • Police are investigating a theft at a business in the 3200 block of Laclede Station that occurred on March 19.  An employee at the business told police that a man and a woman ran out of the business carrying handfuls of clothing items. Police are reviewing video surveillance in hopes of identifying the suspects.
  • Police arrested a 50-year-old woman on suspicion of driving while intoxicated after conducting an accident investigation at Sutton and Greenwood.

Friday, March 20

  • Police arrested a 50-year-old man for shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • Police arrested a 34-year-old man for stealing approximately $150 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • Police arrested a 23-year-old woman for leaving the scene of an accident in the 7700 block of Rannells.

Saturday, March 21

  • Police arrested an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old woman for shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
