In recognition of Super Bowl Sunday, Maplewood Baptist Church turned it into ‘Souper Bowl Sunday.’
A contest between Bible study classes was created to bring in cans of soup and see who could bring the most. The church has done this for the last few years, but this year the church set a goal of 300 cans. Much to everyone’s surprise, the goal was surpassed by a large margin.
Over 500 canned goods and other food items were brought to the church. These items will be divided between the MRH Weekend on Wheels program and the Immaculate Conception food pantry.
