Developer, David Schlafly, who recently bought the building at 7434 Manchester Road, said in an email to 40 South News Monday, that Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken has looked at the location, but no deal has been made.
Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken is a franchise with locations in Tennessee, Texas, Arkansas and Mississippi. The original location, in Memphis, has been in business 60 years, according to its website.
Schlafly said he’s continuing to market the building for lease.

He also said that with the purchase he’ll be able to open another property of his, The Mill (2729 Sutton Boulevard), to Manchester Road.
