Website names Richmond Heights, Brentwood as top US places to live

The website, Niche, named Richmond Heights the fourth best place to live in the United States, and Brentwood at number eight. Maplewood was named the 22nd best.

The Niche 2018 Best Places to Live ranking assesses the overall livability of an area. It takes into account the quality of local schools, crime rates, housing trends, employment statistics, and access to amenities.

Richmond Heights scored all A’s other than B’s for cost of living, outdoor activities and weather, and a C+ for crime and safety.

Brentwood scored and A+ overall, gettings a B’s for diversity, crime and safety, cost of living, outdoor activities and weather,

Maplewood scored all A’s other than a B’s for housing, jobs, cost of living, outdoor activities and weather, and C+ for crime and safety.

  1. I had to look at a map of Richmond Heights. More of it borders #7 Clayton and #8 Brentwood than #767 Maplewood. Also it is in at least two school districts. Will keep my eyes open for what makes RH so great. Congrats on the recognition.

    With so much shared with RH it does not seem possible Maplewood is #767, just south of #4 and right next to #8. Go figure. Can anyone explain this?

    The #22 is Maplewood’s rank among St Louis suburbs. At least according to Niche.

  2. Maplewood is not number 22. You forgot to mention Clayton made number 7. We have 3 out of the top 10 which is pretty damn good though.

  3. Better ask Brentwood City Admin Bola Akande if you have permission to live there first before you make any plans…she runs the City with a machete and a dark heart.
