Maplewood public works assistant, Tiffany Davis, reported in the Park Board meeting Thursday that a woman was bit by a dog at the dog swim at the Maplewood Family Aquatic Center earlier this month. It happened because she brought dog treats into the pool for her dog, even though Davis had told her not to.

photo(2)Davis said when the woman arrived at the event with the treats, she told her she couldn’t take them in because every dog there would want one. When Davis told her to put them in her car, she only pretended to leave them there, then went into the pool.

When the woman got out the treats for her dog she was swarmed by other dogs wanting a treat too, and was bitten.

Davis said the life guard staff took care of the woman and she left.
