Not much remains of the building that once housed Wright Specialty Leather Co. at 8300 Manchester Road. The company was owned by the grandfather of Ed Wright Jr., retired Brentwood High School teacher.
Employees of the wrecking company said the Wright family planned to claim the sign above the door. They said they have the ‘H’ and the ‘T’ on the site. The sign was uncovered in June as workers began demolishing the building. Ed Wright said in the comments on 40 South that the company was his grandfather’s.
Nice to save a bit of history. Way to go.
