The Eagles beat Valley Park 53-50 in a late-season game last year.

Brentwood coach Chris Jones told the Post-Dispatch the Eagles will have to work hard to defend their title this year. He said he’s hoping to be able to split the two games against the Hawks.

Brentwood was 18-6 overall and 10-0 in conference last year. The Eagles’ last conference loss was Feb. 7, 2012, against Crossroads.
Senior Shelby Linneman (5-8), and junior Claudia Jones will take over for the graduates.

Juniors Danni Coates and Lydia Dorenbusch, as well as sophomore Sophia Rivera (5-11), who will be “tough up front,” according to the Post-Dispatch, will also help lead the Eagles.

Maplewood Richmond Heights junior Gracie Biedenstein led the Blue Devils in steals and assists last year. MRH was 6-18 overall and 4-6 in conference. They hope to improve.
