Eagles football begins with a win

Brentwood football kicked off its year with a big win over over Crystal City Friday night, beating the Hornets 58-6 away.

The Eagles began the season last year against Crystal City too, defeating the Hornets 61-26, going on to a 10-0 record until going down in the post-season.

Three Eagles merited St. Louis Post-Dispatch mentions as “best performances” for the night:

Quarterback Skylar Sappington hit five receptions on five throws for 205 yards with two touchdowns, Jacob Clay carried seven times for 184 yards and three touchdowns, and Kaylon Jenkins had two receptions for 140 yards and one touchdown.

Brentwood scored 31 in the first quarter, 14 in the second, 6 in the third and 7 in the fourth. See the full box score at Post-Dispatch.
