Edward J. O’Brien, owner of O’B Clark’s Restaurant, the popular Brentwood sports bar, died on December 12 at age 77, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. O’B Clark’s moved from Brentwood Square to its present location at 1921 S. Brentwood Boulevard about 12 years ago.

Long-time employee, Mickey Kelso, said O’Brien was outgoing and very humorous. “Everyone loved him, that’s for sure,” Kelso said.

She said O’Brien loved Christian Brothers College High School, which he graduated from in 1954. She said two of his five grandsons attend there.

A funeral Mass will be conducted on Saturday, Dec. 21, at 10 a.m. at Christian Brothers College High School Chapel, 1850 De La Salle Drive. A reception will follow the mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Christian Brothers College High School Scholarship Fund in care of Edward O’Brien.
