On Tuesday, Saint Mary Magdalen Catholic School had our Mission Carnival. Our kindergarten teacher, Mrs. King, and the older students prepared the gym for a Mardi Gras celebration.

Beads were handed out to the children, games and face painting were the hit of the day. All of the proceeds from the Mission Carnival will be sent to two Bolivian Orphanages that Saint Mary Magdalen Catholic School has adopted through Pan y Amor-Mission Office of the Archdiocese.

These missions help boys and girls of all ages. Saint Mary Magdalen raised $522 to send to Pan y Amor for these children!

  1. Speaking of SMM and their fundraisers, there was an article in the Post recently listing all the local fish fries. They were pretty much all cheaper than SMM. Most were in the $8 to $9 range. SMM was listed as $6 to $13.

    • Well, clearly you have never attended a StMM fish fry. If you had, you would instead be talking about the enormous crowds that gather each Friday during Lent, the delicious desserts donated by generous parishioners, the welcoming atmosphere you feel the minute you walk through the doors. And that $13 meal you speak of, well that’s the BAKED Salmon. An 8 oz Icelandic fillet with an amazing dill sauce, choice of TWO sides and one of those delectable desserts previously mentioned. Did I also mention it was BAKED?? Oh and by the way, this $13 meal is so popular that you had better make sure you get your order in early enough or you may miss out. I’m sure we’ll be seeing you next Friday!!:-)
