Tony Meyers, owner of John Stricker Auto Repair (7416 Manchester Road), has these old photos in his office now. He said his mother bought them from the Maplewood American Legion Post 103, which closed at the end of Oct. last year.
They seem to be constructed of multiple photos. It appears the top photo is the south side of Manchester Road with Sutton Boulevard at the right, and the bottom photo is the east side of Sutton Boulevard with Manchester Road at the left.
Can anyone make an estimate approximately when these were shot?
I think you’re right, Luke. I photographed those images a few years ago at the Legion Hall but they didn’t turn out too good. I might drop by and see if I can get some higher quality images.
Judging by the automobiles, late 30s would be my guess. Doug Houser would probably have the best guess.
