Saint Mary Magdalen Catholic Church celebrated the Feast of the Archangel Michael.   Saint Michael was the main focus of the liturgy because Michael is the patron saint of police officers and others who keep us safe.

First Responders from surrounding areas joined us at Mass. Students from Saint Mary Magdalen Catholic School greeted the First Responders as they entered the church. During the Mass Father Jack Siefert, pastor of Saint Mary Magdalen blessed Saint Michael prayer cards and offered a special blessing for all First Responders in attendance.  There was a large round of applause to thank those who protect and serve us.  After communion, Mrs. Kathy Wiseman, principal of the school presented a check for $1,000 to BackStoppers.  The students collected the money for a two week period during their annual penny challenge.

After Mass, there was a gathering in the lower level of the church for all in attendance. The students handed each police officer, fire fighter, and paramedic/EMT a Saint Michael prayer card as a reminder that they are protected by their Archangel. It was an honor to have these men and women with us at Saint Mary Magdalen Catholic Church.
