The Brentwood Police department has reported on Facebook that a suspect has been arrested and charged in the armed robbery that took place on Sonora Avenue on June 17.

The victim’s car and personal items were stolen. The car was recovered in East St. Louis, Illinois on June 20.

Brentwood detectives Tim Bone and Rick Litschgi and Administrative Assistant Jason Oesterreicher — with evidence they discovered in the car and further investigation — led to the discovery of the suspect, Montel Harkins, 17, of East St. Louis. He was arrested in East St. Louis and charged with robbery and armed criminal action.

When Brentwood detectives interviewed Harkins he admitted his involvement in the robbery. He is currently held at the St. Louis County Justice Center. He is also a suspect in other crimes in neighboring towns.

  1. Hey, the old old saying goes “You ride the bus, you pay the quarter.”

Montel will be riding the bus, hopefully, to one of Missouri’s Correctional Facility. If he is 17 he will be married within a week after getting to the slam. However, if he is a pretty boy, the wedding will be less than a week.

Good luck Montel and don’t drop your soap in the shower!
