Around 200 people stopped by the APA Adoption Center last night for an open house showcasing the remodeled work the shelter recently completed. Guests who donated to the lobby construction project, longtime supporters and volunteers gathered together to celebrate the APA’s new building features.

Over the 12-month, $1 million construction project, the APA built three additional meet-and-greet rooms, an education center, a meeting room and created an overall change in the front end layout. The APA also unveiled plans to remodel the cat room this year, in order to provide more interaction and stimulation, and to decrease stress for the shelter’s felines.

Steve Kaufman, Executive Director of the APA, spoke at the end of the evening, thanking the supporters for their efforts in making the remodeled shelter possible, and praising the organization’s work to increase the overall adoption rate of animals, which stands at 95 percent for 2015.
