The Branch Outreach and Resources will serve its first lunch to the public, at 2150 Yale Avenue, on Saturday, April 29, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. The meals will always be free.
Maplewood Pentecostal Church of God Pastor Philip Centers, and his wife, Mary, have transformed their fellowship hall into “The Branch Outreach and Resources” to help those in need.
“Our goal is to make life easier for those who could use a little help,” Centers said. “We have street parking in front, and a parking lot in back on Bruno. All are welcome, donations are accepted but not required!”
They recognized that some seniors in the area could use some help. “If they’re on a lot of medications, sometimes it may come down to, ‘do I eat this meal?’ This is a chance, for at least once a month, they can come and eat without having to worry about paying a bill,” Mary Centers said when the work was beginning.
They had donations of supplies from Home Depot, a cargo van from a Fenton church, and the services of architect Barry Greenberg.
The church reported a successful event, and looks forward to next month’s lunch.

You a way to get the word about this to the needy in our community.
They probably don’t have computers.
Wonderful. I just hope this service does not get abused.
